A Broken Hip is a break near the top of your thighbone (femur) where it
angles into your hip socket. When the pocket that the thighbone sits in to
make the hip joint brakes that is a broken pelvis. You can see in the
picture the balled head at the top of the thighbone and the neck below it.
When there is a crack or break in this area you have a broken hip.
Broken bone in the hip, is a key health problem among the elderly,
usually due to a fall or other kind of trauma involving direct impact to the
hip bone which has been weakened by osteoporosis. The part of the hip most
often broken is the neck area of the femur.
