The capitellum is part of the elbow joint itself and forms the joint between the radius and the
humerus bones. You can see the capitellum in the center of the
picture above. Any crack or break in this bone is a capitellum fracture. These
types of fractures are rare. It takes serious contact with the elbow to fracture
the capitellum. When this happens there are most often fractures in other bones
in the area as well.
