Whiteheads picture
A whitehead is a small pearly firm non-inflammatory
elevation of the skin due to retention of keratin in an
oil gland duct blocked by a thin layer of epithelium. While the
whitehead itself may not be inflammatory it is centered in an inflamed
area of the skin.
