Lesch-Nyhan Syndrome
Lesch-Nyhan syndrome is a
hereditary disorder affecting males, in which there is an excess
production of uric acid, normally present in blood and urine. The
syndrome includes mental retardation, self-mutilation of the fingers and
lips by biting, impaired kidney function, and abnormal physical
development.
