Ovarian Dermoid Cyst Picture
A dermoid cyst on the ovary. These are tumors that arise from the cells that could
have become eggs. Dermoid cysts may occur at any age but the prime age of
detection is in the childbearing years. A dermoid cyst is a nonmalignant tumor containing a cyst lined by epidermal cells. It
can contain all the elements of the dermis, including skin, hair follicles and sweat
glands, and the cyst often contains sebum.
